Martina McBride Plans a Summer Break from Touring

With the snow gone and the flowers starting to bloom, spring is a time when most music artist begin making tour plans. Martina McBride’s schedule is normally already filled with summer dates and concerts. However, as of late, McBride has started to ease up on the gas, wanting to spend the summer months with her three daughters and her husband, John.
“Summer isn’t necessarily the best time to tour, but I’ve always done summers because the kids were out of school then, so they could come out on the road with us,” McBride told the Tennessean.
McBride is currently promoting her album, Shine, which hit stores today. Among the stops along her promotional tour this week are the Today show on Wednesday as well as Live With Regis and Kelly, also on Wednesday. In the ensuing weeks, McBride will appear on Chelsea Lately, the Ellen Degeneres Show, Rachel Ray and many more.
Though McBride has often been credited with a nonchalant attitude about juggling her family life and music career, she has recently admitted to having a stressful past.
“Being pregnant, touring, making records … I look back on what I was trying to do, and it was crazy,” she said. “It was a big deal.”
McBride will be back on tour in November.
