From Twitter to MySpace, Martina McBride is tapping into social media to connect to her fans on a personal level. McBride has long been a proponent of giving her fans "inside looks" into her music-making world, from behind the scenes of a video shoot to backstage access on her tours.

Her two current projects encourage her fans to get involved with a MySpace karaoke competition and a Twitter scavenger hunt.

The MySpace competition allows fans to karaoke for McBride with songs from her current album, Shine. The entries will be narrowed down to 20 contestants, and McBride will choose a winner for a trip to Atlanta on May 1. The lucky fan will get to meet McBride and attend that night's performance from McBride's Shine All Night Tour.

Fans with a lack of vocal talent can try the Twitter contest, to win free tickets to a Shine All Night show. McBride personally hides the tickets with a personal note, and then tweets clues to their location.

"The Twitter ticket hunt is a really fun way to connect with the fans in each city and we have a blast doing it," said McBride. "I tweet the clues myself so it's really cool to see the winners in the front row. Sometimes they even bring the envelope and wave and say thanks!"
