Martina McBride Enjoys Domestic Life

Martina McBride has been a steady presence in the Country Music Top Ten and has been named as the CMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year four times. But in the midst of her success as a Country Music star, she still finds time to spend quality time at home.

During a recent interview with Bankrate.com, the Country star shared that she loves to cook, read cookbooks, hang out with her family and spend time in her Nashville home. One of the reasons she is able to do all of those things is her ability to multitask.

She said, “multitasking has become such a way of life for me that I don't even realize I'm doing it anymore.” McBride has been known to check e-mails while she eats breakfast and listen to songs for an album while she’s driving. She tries “to pick up time, so not a minute is wasted.”

“I deal with one thing at a time and what needs to be done. But like every other working mom, you deal with work when at work and then, when you come home, you deal with whatever you need to do at home,” she said.

McBride also shared that another reason for her success at home is that she plans ahead and makes lists. By doing things like starting her Christmas shopping early, planning out what she wants to cook for the week and choosing simple menus for entertaining, McBride is able to reduce her stress and enjoy time at home.

When asked what her greatest accomplishment was outside of her family, McBride said, “I guess just building a successful career one step at a time. It took a long time for me to be taken seriously as a singer, artist and producer. There were some really hard times. But I'm glad I had to prove myself because it makes it that much sweeter.”

Balancing her time at home and at work, McBride is able to thoroughly enjoy both her time as a Country Music performer and as a homemaker.
