Martina Among Dove Award Nominees

2/15/2008 Stephen L. Betts Martina McBride’s single “Anyway” is among the nominees for the upcoming Dove Awards. The track is in the running for Country Recorded Song along with the Bellamy Brothers’ “Drug Problem.” The Bellamys are also nominated in the Country Album category for Jesus Is Coming, along with Alabama for Songs of Inspiration 2. Ricky Skaggs and the Whites scored two nominations for Bluegrass Recorded Song from their album Salt of the Earth - the title track and “Love Will Be Enough,” with the CD also in contention for Bluegrass Album. The Steve Carell film Evan Almighty helped several country acts nab nominations, including Hal Ketchum, Jo Dee Messina and LeAnn Rimes. The 39th annual Dove awards will air live on the Gospel Music Channel April 23 from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
