Marthia Sides is a rising Country Music singer with a message for Toyota: We're "braking" up.
The singer is temporarily boycotting the Toyota Corporation, along with thousands of other Toyota buyers, after the company recalled more than nine million cars across the world. Many of Toyota's cars had been experiencing malfunctions with the accelerator pedal and accelerator entrapment. Sides was one customer who experienced those problems first hand; she had trouble with her accelerator after going over a bump, but it was only minor.
Ironically, Sides' newest radio single, entitled "Some Asswmblt Required," contains a line about Toyota. Originally, the lyrics said, "I wish I had a new Toyota" as reference to a problem-free assembly. The song is a playful ode to trying but failing to find the elusive perfect man. Since the Toyota fiasco, the song has been reconfigured, minus the Toyota reference.
Listen for "Some Assembly Required" on Country radio.
