Marshall Tucker Band's New Album is 40 Years in the Making

After forty years of trailblazing and changing the music scene, the Marshall Tucker Band will release their newest album, "The Marshall Tucker Band: Greatest Hits (Shout Factory)."
 
The 14-track album will hit stores April 5, 2011, and will feature the original songs that made the band a sensation.
 
Hailing from Spartanburg, S.C., these musical guru’s debuted in the 70s, forever changing perceptions of the American pop music scene.
 
The Marshal Tucker Band was king at improvising, both onstage and off. The band established an early-on presence on radio, which grew with the release of each album. Their greatest hits album combines the bands best-known singles with plenty of key album tracks.
 
"Looking back, it was very difficult to choose which songs to include in this album,” lead singer Doug Gray said.
 
In addition to the Greatest Hits album, Gray’s lost R&B solo album, "Soul of the South," will debut the same day.The unreleased 30-year-old recordings, featuring the MTB, showcases Gray's vocal affinity for Soul and Blues.
