The seven celebrity judges of the 90th annual Miss America pageant were announced Wednesday on The View, and Country artist Mark Wills was on the list.

Rounding out the judging panel is The View co-host Joy Behar, Desperate Housewives’ creator and executive producer Marc Cherry, fashion designer Taryn Rose, former Miss America Dr. Debbye Turner Bell, actress/producer/author Marilu Henner and ballroom dancer Tony Dovolani.

“I do a lot of work with Children's Miracle Network,” said Wills, “and have worked closely with them for the last couple of years. Miss America is one of their spokespeople. They asked me if I'd be interested in judging the pageant, and I immediately said yes. I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to be a part of, and I am very grateful to have been asked to be one of the judges.”

Wills’ large intestine ruptured in October, and he's currently recovering from his emergency surgery. He will re-enter the studio in 2011 to finish up work on his new album.

The 90th annual Miss America pageant airs live from Las Vegas’s Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
