7/20/2007 Stephen L. Betts Singer and actor Mark Collie was arrested and booked into Nashville’s Metro Jail last night on a charge of driving under the influence. According to a report in the Tennessean, he was released this morning (7/20) at 2:12 a.m. Vanderbilt University police officer Jeremy Douglas Baker found Collie slumped over behind the steering wheel of a car while responding to a call to check on a man. “When I woke Mr. Collie up and asked if he was OK, he began to speak and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his mouth,” the officer said in an affidavit. The officer said Collie agreed to take field sobriety tests, but was unable to perform the tasks. Collie was also charged with implied consent because he refused to allow his blood to be drawn unless his personal doctor was present, the affidavit said. According to Metro records, Collie was released after posting $1,500 bond. Mark Collie’s hits include the 1992 Top 5 single, “Even the Man in the Moon Is Crying.” He also appeared as Johnny Cash in the film, I Still Miss Someone.
