Country Music artists are known for their personal relationship with their fans, and Jimmy Wayne is no different. When Wayne was onstage at the Grand Ole Opry last weekend, he invited his fans to "come on and join me for some sweet tea and a baked sweet potato at Santa Fe," a resaurant near the Grand Ole Opry House.
When Wayne arrived at the restaurant, two dozen fans were waiting for him. He chatted and drank tea with the lucky fans, even giving them an intimate performance afterward. Wayne convinced fiddle player Jake Clayton to play along as Wayne performed recent hit "Do You Believe Me Now" and the new "Kerosene Kid."
"Getting to meet new people and hang out with them in a casual setting like this is one of the best things about what I do for a living," Jimmy told TheBoot.com. "I could just wave at them from the stage, and pose for a picture. But this really gives me a chance to hear what they think, learn about their lives and enjoy this great opportunity I've been given."
