Summertime is a time for laughs at the Grand Ole Opry, as former Hee Haw star Mike Snider takes the stage for a new show, Pickin' & Grinnin' , to run in Studio A June 25 through July 25.

Snider will be joined on stage by his band and magician Scott Cantrell. "We’re going to have a good time every time," Snider said. "It's going to be great to fill Studio A with some laughs and some good down home pickin again. And if a joke bombs, I'll just ask the magician to make me disappear."

Along with Pickin' & Grinnin', Opry presents a star-studded summer line-up, including: Trace Adkins (June 9); Dierks Bentley (July 28, August 18); Charlie Daniels Band (June 9, July 21, 28); Alison Krauss (June 19, 20); Montgomery Gentry (Opry Induction June 23); Charley Pride (June 12, 13); Wynonna (June 27); and Carrie Underwood (June 9, July 25).

The Opry’s other new show for 2009, Opry Country Classics, runs Thursdays through June 18 then returns for a fall run September 10. Larry Gatlin hosts the rest of the spring run with guests including Tanya Tucker and Steve Wariner.

Pickin' & Grinnin' will run Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. Opry performances begin at 7 p.m.
