6/23/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer 39th Annual Songwriter's Hall of Fame-Loretta Lynn Country Music powerhouse Loretta Lynn brought the house down last Thursday night at the 39th Annual Songwriter's Hall of Fame Inductions in New York City. Introduced by Lee Ann Womack—who sang Lynn's "You Ain't Woman Enough"—the 74 year-old singer/songwriter took her turn at the microphone with "Coal Miner's Daughter." An enthusiastic, standing-ovation audience urged Lynn back to the stage, where she performed an impromptu encore, singing "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin.'" Lynn is best known for her honest lyrics and country-girl pride, with hits such as "Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)" and "The Pill." Lynn and Womack were not the only Country Music Stars in attendance, Oklahoman Blake Shelton performed a tribute to songwriter Albert Hammond and Anne Murray received the the Howie Richmond Hitmaker Award.
