4/22/2008 Meaghan Mitchell Who knew Country Music singers could be a sell-out bowling league? In nine short days tickets sold out for Country Music group, Lonestar’s annual “Lonestar & Friends Strike Out for the Kids.”  The event is presented by GAC and benefits St. Jude’s Children’s research Hospital. Held at Hermitage Lanes in Hermitage, Tennessee, the Country group called on some of their friends, who happened to be some of the biggest names in Country Music, to help out at this year’s tournament.  Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, American Idol’s Bo Bice, Josh Gracin, Joe Nichols, Chuck Wicks, Diana DeGarmo, Trent Tomlinson, Jamie O’Neal, Darryl Worley, Bryan White, Chris Young, Ty Herndon, Heidi Newfield, and Crystal Shawanda are scheduled to participate. This year’s quick sell-out marks the fourth consecutive year the event has been a success.  Since the start of the bowling tournament in 2004, it has every year and raise more than $70,000 for St. Jude’s. “Knowing that this thing is already sold out is huge!” says Lonestar’s founding member, Dean Sams.  “I’ve got a gut feeling that this year’s proceeds will beat out everything we’ve raised in the past!” Ticket holders will enjoy dinner at Hermitage Lanes and will be included in a random drawing for a chance to play on one of the celebrity bowling teams.  For each artist in attendance, four lucky fans will be drawn at random to play in the games with their favorite Country Music stars.  Attendees will also be eligible to participate in a silent auction, which will include signed photos, CD’s and merchandise from some of the biggest stars in country music. The game is set for Monday June 2, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. (CST).
