8/16/2007 Stephen L. Betts Lisa Marie Presley has recorded a duet with her late father Elvis, to mark the 30th anniversary of the legendary singer's death. The 39-year-old star, the only child of the rock 'n' roll pioneer, cried when she first heard her voice added to her father's original 1969 recording of "In The Ghetto", which is available on iTunes as of today (8/16). "I do think this idea would mean a lot to him," Lisa says. "Singing this particular duet with him was more emotional for me than anything I'd done before. We had two hours to lay down my vocals. So the next morning, I heard the rough mix and I've never cried when I've done anything ever, but I just lost it when I heard it." Proceeds from the sale of the song will go to the New Orleans branch of Presley Place, a transitional housing facility for homeless families. An accompanying music video, which features Lisa and images of Elvis, will be posted on the AOL site Spinner.com on Friday (8/17). Lisa previously recorded the duet "Don't Cry Daddy" with Elvis to mark the 20th anniversary of his untimely death, although it was never released commercially. More than 75,000 fans are expected to flock to Memphis this week to remember The King. Elvis died at Graceland, his Memphis home, after suffering a heart attack on August 16, 1977.
