Little Jimmy Dickens will celebrate his 60th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in style with special appearances from Country stars and friends. Country legend George Jones, Trace Adkins and Brad Paisley are among those on the list set to perform at this special occasion on Nov. 1. Dickens is the Opry’s longest-standing member and this signature show is their way of honoring his time spent as a member.  Dickens started with the Opry in 1948 after being introduced by legend Roy Acuff. He’s well-known for his rhinestone-studded suits, comedic abilities and, of course, his 4' 11" stature. His hits list includes “A-Sleeping at the Foot of the Bed,” “Country Boy” and “The Violet and the Rose.”  The performers chosen for the show all have a special connection with Dickens. Jones and Dickens have performed at the Opry for the past fifty years together. Both have a special place in the Country Music world as well as at the Opry. In 2003, Dickens was the one chosen to invite Trace Adkins to join the family at the Opry. He climbed on top of a small kitchen ladder in order to extend the invitation. Dicken’s connection to Brad Paisley is more evident when you look at several of the videos he’s made cameos in for the younger artist.
