It’s been a big week for Little Big TownThe debut of their fourth studio album, The Reason Why, grabbed the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart after its release on Aug. 24. With more than 42,000 albums sold and their hit single, “Little White Church,” holding steady in the Top 50 Country songs on iTunes, this is Little Big Town’s most successful debut to date.

“This will be a week we never forget," said band member Karen Fairchild in a press release. “We owe that to the incredible fans, Country radio and our new label Capitol Records."

Fairchild and bandmates Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook kicked off their cross-country press tour in Chicago at a sold out release party before heading to New York, where they performed on Good Morning America, Fox and Friends and several other shows.

And when the CMA nominations were announced on Aug. 30, the group had yet another reason to celebrate — they’re in the running for the 2010 Vocal Group of the Year. This is their fifth nomination in that category and their eighth CMA nomination since their self-titled debut album in 2002.

Rather than resting on their laurels, the group will continue traveling with Sugarland on The Incredible Machine Tour as they await the CMA Awards ceremony on Nov. 10.
