When it comes to soul, Lee Brice is the man. As the writer of Garth Brooks’ hit, "More Than a Memory," and a singer with a bit of soul himself, Brice knows soul when he sees it. Brice is concerned that with Brooks & Dunn calling it quits, Country Music may be lacking in the soul department. But, rather than let it die, Brice believes that Randy Houser is just the guy to bring the soul back to Country Music.
“There’s kind of a void,” Brice told The Boot, “the Ronnie Dunn soulful type voice is gonna go away now that they’re done. And I think Randy Houser is the perfect guy. He’s got that voice, man, he’s got that thing. He’s one of my buddies, and I think he’s one of the most talented people in this town.”
Brice shows us a little bit of his soulful side in his new single, "Love Like Crazy." This song hit close to home with Brice, as he said it reminds him a lot of his own family.
“When I first heard ‘Love Like Crazy’ it made me think of my grandparents. My grandparents lived this song and I knew immediately that I had to record it.”
You can expect "Love Like Crazy" on Brice’s new album, Picture of Me, due out later this year.
