11/20/2007 Stephen L. Betts   LeAnn Rimes has teamed up with All Small & Mighty laundry detergent to find the greenest elementary school kids in America. GACTV.com reports that LeAnn is encouraging young students to become mini-environmentalists and help their families make easy changes at home, including switching to eco-friendly products. “As the youngest person ever to win a Grammy Award, I understand the potential that kids have to make an impact on all of us,” says LeAnn. “That's why I am so excited to be a part of Go Green & Small with All, because it empowers kids to lead the way and encourage their families to become more environmentally responsible. Protecting the environment is so important to me and is a cause we all should embrace.” Families can visit www.gogreenwithall.com to complete their own Eco-Report Cards, tracking how their family's efforts are helping to protect the environment. Kids can also share their personal Eco-Stories and photos online, while teachers can download grade-appropriate lesson plans and curricula to extend the eco-message into the classroom. The winning elementary school will receive a $50,000 grant for green improvements like an eco-friendly playground. Every student in the winning school will receive a green iPod Shuffle with an environmentally friendly solar charger and a chance to be featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In addition, nine other finalist schools will each win $5,000 to green their school. Entries are due by November 26; finalists and winners will be announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January.
