8/20/2007 Stephen L. Betts "I’m With the Band," the first single from Little Big Town’s highly anticipated November album is going for adds at radio stations this week. Much of the material on the as yet untitled new CD was written by group members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Jimi Westbrook and Kimberly Roads, and co-produced by Wayne Kirkpatrick and the group. The album was written and recorded over the past year in Kirkpatrick’s studio, tucked away in the hills just outside Nashville. “Wayne’s studio is where we try to get away from all the outside influences, and focus solely on music,” said Karen. “When it’s just the four of us with Wayne, there is a natural thing that happens – it’s a time to push each other and pull in new directions. We are always looking for special moments for the record and want it to be a complete experience for the listener from start to end. We aren’t listening to all of the stuff that goes along with the business side of music. We’re only listening to the ideas for songs, the melodies in our heads and trying to satisfy ourselves creatively.” Jimi says the new single is "about where we are right now in our lives and the love we have for making music for a living. It was also inspired by watching the fans go on that same journey to share in the music. They go to great lengths to support the bands they love and we are grateful for them.”
