3/6/2008 Meaghan Mitchell Though they might be a new group in Country Music, Lady Antebellum already has an Academy of Country Music nomination under their belt.  The group composed of Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley, and Hillary Scott received a nomination in the Top New Group category, but scooping up an ACM nomination is not all Lady Antebellum has been up to.  They have been busy filming for Great American Country's newest series, Introducing..., which premieres Thursday, March 20 (8:30 p.m. ET). The new series will explore the rivalry between Haywood and Kelley during their early teen years, as they were musicians in "rival" bands.  The two met up again in college and this time, starting playing music together, and it was Kelley whose persisting got the guys to make the move to Nashville. "We moved in with my brother whether he wanted us or not," remembers Kelley.  "We crashed his house, moved in and immersed ourselves in songwriting." Months later, Scott and Kelley met at a local hangout and they began writing together.  It was this new addition that brought a unique chemistry to their songwriting and the three decided to form a group. "We were playing shows every two weeks for about two months at a club and we didn't plan on having a lot of industry people coming tour shows," recalls Haywood.  "A few industry people came the first time -- not many -- then more came and before we knew it, we had a room full of people from Music Row.  Finally, Mike Dungan with Capitol saw us, really dug us and brought us in to talk.  So we kinda landed the deal that way." Scott adds, "It was a crazy time because we were just playing to play and continuing to write songs and hang out.  And when that happened, we welcomed it with open arms.  You'd never think that just by meeting someone out one night in Nashville that something like this can happen." Introducing... goes behind the scenes with them as they experience, for the first time, shooting a video, being in the studio, touring with Martina McBride, and performing at the Grand Ole Opry.  The series will also see what their family, friends, producers, and label executives have to say about the three individuals who all agree meeting each other has been the best thing to happen in their life.
