Kyle Fleming, Mark Sanders and Tammy Wynette Inducted in Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted Kye Fleming, Tammy Wynette and Mark D. Sanders last night at the 39th Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. 

Roger Murrah, Chairman of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation, was pleased with the induction, saying, “What an honor it is to welcome Kye, Mark and Tammy into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. They have obviously demonstrated the talent and done the work that’s worthy of such a tribute from the professional songwriting community.”
Barbara Mandrell inducted Fleming, who has written hits "Give Me Wings," "Smokey Mountain Rain" and "I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World. Group Eden’s Edge covered a medley of Fleming hits while he was being inducted, while Ronnie Milsap provided a rendition of “Smoky Mountain Rain” and “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It For The World.”
Wynette was inducted by Murrah while Gaylord Entertainment put on a rare, vintage clip of Wynette singing her stand-out hit, “Stand By Your Man.”
Sanders was inducted by songwriters Bob DiPiero and Tia Sillers. Performers Shawn Camp, Megan Mullins and John Bolinger teamed up for such hits as “This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing” “Daddy’s Money” and “Money in the Bank.” Lee Ann Womack also added a rendition of “I Hope You Dance.”
Other awards that were given that night included the naming of the late Bill Hall as the recipient of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation Mentor Award and the Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter Achievement Awards.
Don Sampson and Wynn Varble won Song of the Year for “Waitin’ On A Woman” (performed by Brad Paisley). Varble also won Songwriter of the Year for her work on hits including “Sounds Like Life To Me” by Darryl Worley and “Waitin’ On A Woman." Taylor Swift also was awarded Songwriter/Artist of the Year for her singles, “Love Story” and “Our Song.”
Toby Keith and Craig Wiseman were named Songwriters of the Decade for their work in the music industry from 2000 to 2009.
