Kris Kristofferson An Icon

Singer-songwriter, musician and actor Kris Kristofferson can add another accomplishment to his list as he will be named BMI Icon at the BMI Country Awards this year in November.

Kritoffersons has written a plethora of hit songs, some which include, "Me and Bobby McGee," "Why Me," "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," "For the Good Times" and "Help Me Make it Through the Night." While he has worked with several Nashville songwriters on some songs, he has also written many on his own.

The BMI Awards will honor other successful songwriters over the past year, as well as bestow Kristofferson with his award for being "a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers."
