1/10/2008 George Strait embarks on his 2008 tour tonight (1/10) with a stop that’s close to home. Joined by Little Big Town and Sarah Johns, the Poteet, Texas-born entertainer kicks things off in Austin. Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild says the band is looking forward to watching and learning from George Strait. “Obviously, he’s the king,” says Karen. “We always pick up different things from different artists as we watch … to be able to watch the 'Mac Daddy' of them all do it in an arena situation is going to be an amazing learning experience for us.” While Little Big Town has opened for headliners including Martina McBride, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney, this tour marks Sarah Johns’ first time as an opening act. Following Austin, the tour hits Oklahoma City, Okla., on Friday (1/11) and Little Rock, Ark., on Sunday (1/13).
