Kevin Costner has done a lot in his life. He’s directed a movie, won an Oscar and ridden with buffalo. Now, he can add performing at the Grand Ole Opry to the list. Kevin and his band Modern West performed at the Ryman, The Stage and the Sommet Center in the past week.  The actor said that this week ranks as one of the highest points of his life.“It all goes under the banner of a real huge life experience,” he said. “It has marked me somehow in a positive way.”Costner said one of the most moving moments came when he saw the Confederate Gallery during a historic tour of the Ryman. His band has been writing a song about Civil War soldiers moments before death, and the balcony attributed to soldiers returning from the war gave him some inspiration. They say that sometimes the last thing a man will call for before he dies is his mom,” he said.  “This song deals with what you hope happens with them at that last moment, when there’s a certain grace and letting go.”
