Kevin Costner Makes a Career Change

Kevin Costner

Movie star Kevin Costner is taking a turn at singing, something he’s not very well known for but has been doing for several years. Universal Republic/Universal Records South is set to release Untold Truths, the debut Country album from Kevin Costner & Modern West on Nov. 11.  Costner and bandmate John Coinman have been making music together for over 20 years. Their first band, Roving Boy, was put on the backburner for Costner's movie career, but recently he shifted his focus to music. He began performing more a few years ago and decided he wanted to become more involved after a performance in 2005.  “I remember looking out into the crowd, thinking ‘this just feels right,’” said Costner in a statement from the record company. He either wrote or co-wrote all twelve songs on the album with his band. Modern West consists of John Coinman, Blair Forward, Teddy Morgan, Larry Cobb and Park Chisolm. The band released songs to radio stations on Sept. 30 and looks to hit the touring circuit in late 2008, early 2009 to promote the album.
