Surprise! Kenny on Grand Ole Opry

4/5/2008 Staff Friday, April 4, country superstar Kenny Chesney made a surprise appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in support of the debut performance of Tim Hensley, a band member of Chesney who has just released his own bluegrass record, Long Monday, co-produced by Chesney.  Together they performed the classic “Workin’ on a Building,” that is included on Hensley’s cd. Chesney's appearance is the latest in a line of surprise performances to wow Opry fans, including surprise visits by contemporary superstars Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, and Trisha Yearwood. Chesney, himself, made an unannounced Opry appearance with friend Uncle Kracker four years ago, and last month Randy Travis made a surprise visit to invite Carrie Underwood to become an official Opry member.
