Kenny Exorcises "Demons" on New Album

8/6/2007 Stephen L. Betts Kenny Chesney says some of the tracks from his upcoming album, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates, really gave him a greater sense of himself. In particular, one song called "Demons" deals with the things in life that haunt a person for years. "I didn't consciously get out of bed and go, 'I'm gonna open my heart and soul up to everybody,'" says Kenny, "but a couple of the songs [on this album] made me realize who I am and what my reality is right now." Kenny had some help on "Demons" from Vince Gill, who plays guitar on the track. Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates is Kenny's first new album in two years. It'll be released on Sept. 11. The first single, "Never Wanted Nothing More," is already Kenny's 13th chart-topping single.
