Kenny Chesney’s Poets and Pirates tour has come to an end after playing 34 cities (14 stadiums). But the final performance was anything but boring. The final night of the tour took place at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Field stadium, a new home for the Colts. Before the show, Chesney gave an impromptu parking lot performance and interview with 2,800+ fans, which was broadcast live on his XM "No Shoes Radio" show. As Chesney reminisced over the year 2008 and prepared for his final Poets and Pirates show, he said, “I can’t believe the shows are played, and it’s time to call it quits for another summer!”Opening for Chesney in Indy was Mostly Crew. For the third year in a row, Mostly Crew, a band consisting of the tech crew that makes Chesney’s shows run smoothly, rocked out with rock-and-roll hits like "Sin City," "Helter Skelter" and "Rock & Roll All Night." Then, Chesney and his band played their usual show for the first two hours and ended with an hour of cover songs like Tom Petty’s “Jammin’ Me” and Alabama’s “Dixieland Delight.”  Keith Urban joined Chesney on stage to play the Eagle’s “Take It to the Limit."  Chesney, his band and the audience did not want the night to end.  Ending around midnight with "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy," Chesney then took the time to meet and greet his fans. Poets and Pirates, his seventh summer tour, brought in over a million fans. Chesney said, "I want the people to come see us and leave feeling better...I hope these songs stand for the things in their lives that seem pretty small, but are pretty much everything."
