Just months after their Superbowl win, the Green Bay Packer’s home Lambeau Field was filled, but this time not with football fans. 45,000 country music fans gathered there on Saturday night to see Kenny Chesney play the stadium’s first concert since 1985. An avid football fan, Chesney invited Packers coach Mike McCarthy to the stage during the concert. He was met with the crowd’s cheers as he brought with him the team’s Lombardi trophy that was awarded at the Superbowl earlier this year.

"Playing Lambeau Field was just about the biggest thrill of my life," Chesney said. "It was everything I imagined it would be and more. The crowd in Lambeau hit us like an avalanche and they never let up. The connection was unlike any other, and I am so proud that my band and crew and I are now a part of the rich history and tradition of Lambeau Field in a small way. To stand in that stadium, in that city, and hold the Packers' Super Bowl trophy that was named after the man that made such a mark on the sport was something I never dreamed of when I first started this journey. I had chills performing 'The Boys Of Fall' in a place where football means so much to so many and where a lot of history lives. I was in awe the whole night, and I will never forget the feeling of playing in Green Bay." Chesney’s fans were just as thrilled with the experience as he was, with the Green Bay Gazette praising "his energy level [that was] somewhere just shy of superhuman all night” and calling the performance “a concert of historical proportions.”
