Kenny Chesney Hits Platinum Status, Reaches No. 1 And Finishes Tour

 When it comes to Kenny Chesney, the hits just keep on coming! With yet another record-shattering summer, his latest album, Hemingway’s Whiskey (BNA) has been certified platinum by the RIAA, making it his 10th platinum album. But it doesn’t stop there. The country superstar has generated three No. 1 singles as well as his current hit featuring Grace Potter, “You and Tequila,” has been certified gold and is No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Country Songs chart.

 
While soaring in bliss, the artist wraps up the 2011 Corona Presents Kenny Chesney’s 'Goin' Coastal' Tour. The show was marked as one of the year’s biggest tours, selling more than 1.3 million tickets.
 
After his more than 60 shows, Chesney co-headlined Clear Channel’s blockbuster iHeartRadio Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Coldplay. Chesney hit the stage with a seven-song set that included favorites such as “Beer in Mexico,” “I Go Back” and “Living in Fast Forward.”
 
His upcoming hit, “Reality,” will ship to radio on Oct. 3. The single is the fifth from Hemingway’s Whiskey and was co-written by Brett James. Chesney is nominated for four awards at the 2011 CMA Awards which will be held Nov. 9. He has been nominated for Song of the Year as well as Musical Event of the Year for “You and Tequila.”
