When rain clouds started to gather, Kellie Pickler’s show at the Freeborn County Fair in Minnesota was moved up an hour to make sure that the Country artist could perform. But even with the last minute move, more fans showed up than the grandstand could hold.

Even with the gates to the venue closing 15 minutes before Pickler’s set started, the show had the highest grossing box office receipts in the history of the fair. The crowd was the “largest in my 34 years here,” said Bill Magann with Variety Attractions.

Daily newspaper The Tribune noted, “As Pickler talked to the crowd in between songs, it was almost as if this real-life small-town girl from Albemarle, N.C., had lived in Albert Lea [Minn.] her whole life as she effortlessly went from telling you about each song to walking unguarded into an area where you can tell she feels the most comfortable and confident — with her fans, who exploded with delight.”

Pickler’s set started with her Top 10 single, “Best Days of Your Life,” and finished 90 minutes later with “Red High Heels.” During her closing song, the Country artist invited every young girl in the audience up on stage to sing with her.

Kellie Pickler is currently headlining her own shows as well as touring with Taylor Swift. For a full list of dates and appearances, visit www.kelliepickler.com.
