Keith Urban at Daytona 500

Country Music star Keith Urban is set to perform at the pre-race concert this Sunday, Feb. 15, before the start of the 51st annual Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Fla.Urban is scheduled to not only perform some of his No. 1 hits, but to unveil his new musical theme for the animated FOX mascot Digger & Friends, an animated gopher that participates in the network's coverage."How could you turn the critter down?" Urban said of the opportunity to write music for Digger. "I immediately went to my drum machine, then to my guitar, back to my drum machine and on to my banjo, and it wasn’t long before I had the song. I just hope that Digger likes it."Also scheduled to perform at the race festivities are newcomer Julianne Hough, who will sing the national anthem, and Toby Keith's discovery, Flynnville Train, will reveal their new single, "Turn Left."For those Urban fans unable to make the race, their chance to cheer comes April 5 at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Urban is up for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year with Brad Paisley for their collaboration on "Start A Band."
