1/7/2008 Nicole Kidman has ended weeks of speculation and pregnancy rumors, announcing today (1/8) that she is expecting a child with husband Keith Urban. The news broke when the couple released a statement through Nicole’s Australian publicist Wendy Day. “Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby,” the statement reads. “The couple are thrilled.” Nicole announced her pregnancy after withdrawing from her upcoming film, The Reader, which was due to begin shooting this month."I don't know how far pregnant she is, or when the baby's due," Ms. Day reported to Australia's Herald Sun newspaper after Nicole called her with the news. "She just simply rang me and said, 'Wendy, I always told you I would tell you first, and I'd confirm it and you could make the appropriate announcement. So I guess that statement ends all the rumors and ... I guess the poor girl will be hounded by the paparazzi and all that."
