12/5/2007 Stephen L. Betts Major League Baseball has descended upon Nashville for its annual Winter Meetings, visiting some of the country-music capital’s hot spots, and talking baseball with lifelong fan Josh Turner. Josh tells Doug Miller of MLB.com that he grew up a Cincinnati Reds fan after the team won the World Series in 1990 but switched allegiances, like a lot of Nashville residents, to another very successful team. “I started collecting baseball cards, and just really getting into what all the players were like, and as I got older I became an Atlanta Braves fan,” says Josh. “My wife is actually from just outside of Atlanta, so we try to go to a game every chance we get.” Josh was a high-school outfielder in South Carolina before moving to Nashville to pursue his music career.
