11/14/2007 Stephen L. Betts   For the second time in recent months, Josh Turner has been “duped.” The first happened while on stage at the Grand Ole Opry when guitar legend Roy Clark surprised him with the coveted invitation to become the Opry's newest member.  The second came Monday night (11/12) when Josh's wife, Jennifer Turner, hosted a surprise 30th birthday party, a week prior to his actual birthday.  The special event, held at a historical restaurant in Franklin, TN, was attended by Josh’s parents and family members as well as many other country music peers and friends. Since the Grand Ole Opry's General Manager Peter Fisher obviously knew how to surprise Josh, Jennifer Turner solicited his help. “I sent Josh a text message and invited him and his wife out to dinner to celebrate his Opry induction. He fell right for it,” says Fisher. When Josh arrived and the crowd yelled “surprise,” Josh was speechless except for “She really got me!” The festivities were catered by Cracker Barrel and the unique hunting and fishing décor - complete with live fish and clay ducks - was topped off with a giant 4-wheeler birthday cake. After dinner, Josh opened a special gift from Jennifer and their one-year-old son Hampton. It was a life jacket for the toddler with a card that said, “Please take me fishing in your new bass boat.” He then opened another envelope that included photos of the boat. Josh will officially turn 30 on Nov. 20.
