Josh Turner Makes Family Life on the Road Fun

The couple and their two sons — Hampton, 3 ½, and Colby, 7 months, — will head west soon in support of Turner’s new CD, Haywire. Jennifer, who plays keyboard and sings backup in Turner’s band, said the family will take a couple of days off to visit Sea World and Disneyland.

 

“It gives Hampton something to look forward to,” she said.

 

The family also has a tradition for when they are on the road; they collect children’s books about each state they visit. Turner said they have all but four of them now.

 

“A lot of times we go to a state that has a book that we don’t have and it’s like a scavenger hunt to go out and try to find it,” he said.

 

Turner knows there will be a time when his sons won’t be able to travel with him and his wife, but at the moment, he's enjoying some quality family time.

 

“For right now, they love being out there and they hate being away from us. And, we hate being away from them. It’s just what feels right,” Turner said.
