‘Who the hell is Josh Thompson?’ was the tag line printed on some of the singers early t-shirts when he was still trying to make it in the Country Music world. But now, with his debut album Way Out Here being released in stores nationwide today, Tuesday, Thompson has moved from a little-known singer, to one of the up and coming stars in Country Music.
Just this weekend, Thompson played to three sold out crowds as a part of the Jagermeister Country Tour. Now he is heading back to his native Milwaukee to celebrate the release of his album with the people who have been Josh Thompson fans from the start.
Thompson began pouring concrete with his dad at the age of 12, opening his eyes to the trials and troubles of hard-working people everywhere. Those experiences have given him a strong work ethic that drives his albums.
Way Out Here features Thompson’s Top 20 hit, "Beer On the Table," as well as nine other songs which he wrote or co-wrote. The album is a testament to the hard work that Thompson has endured to get where he is.
“This past year has been fast and crazy - but I love fast and crazy!” Thompson said in a statement on Monday. “I am beside myself that my debut album will hit stores all over this Country tomorrow. I hope the fans enjoy this piece of my life and music as much as I did living and creating it.”
Thompson will return to Music City on Wednesday as he prepares for the Country Radio Seminar, which will take place later in the week. He will also have the honor of playing on the Grand Ole Opry stage Friday night before heading to Bowling Green, Ky., for another club event to promote and celebrate his debut album.
Stay tuned to CountryHound next week for exclusive coverage of Thompson's Bowling Green event!
