5/6/2008 Kasey Bell Television star Jon Hager has lost a part of himself that he only now realizes what it was. Jon’s twin brother Jim Hager died Thursday at the age of 66 from an apparent heart attack.  The two were incredibly close, but Jon admits that he didn’t realize it until it was too late. “He was the best brother in the universe,” Jon said.  “He did things that I didn’t see that were just wonderful things.” The Hager twins gained national fame during the 1960s, '70s and '80s for their regular appearances and performances on the hit Country Music show Hee-Haw.  After they left the show, the two went on performing at charity events and other Country Music shows, perfecting their act along the way. “We made it part of a routine in our show,” Jon, who was 20 minutes older, said.  “I would say ‘This is my younger brother,’ and he would say ‘You were early.  I was born on time.’” Jon does have one piece of advice for everyone. “Just remember, don’t take that for granted,” he said.  “The part that I’m working through is there was no warning.  It happens so fast, ‘Wait a second.  Don’t go yet.  I want to tell you one more time that I love you.’  Take time to tell your loved ones that you love them, because you never know when it’s going to happen.” A memorial service for Jim Hager was held today at Ryman Auditorium.
