John Michael Montgomery Signs New Deal

4/22/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Country Music artist John Michael Montgomery has signed a new agreement with an indepdent music distributor, Artist To Market Distribution (A2M), which will handle distribution of Montgomery’s future projects. The partnership comes before Montgomery’s tenth studio release, Time Flies, due out at the end of 2008. The first single, “Mad Cowboy Disease,” is written by Jamey Johnson, Jeremy Popoff and Jon Maddux. A2M isn’t the only change to Montgomery’s team. After announcing the formation of his record label, Springtown Records, in late 2007, CO5 and Grassroots Promotion was brought aboard for radio promotion and Ed Gertler Consulting to manage internet promotions. To prepare for online and digital distribution of Time Flies, A2M has partnered with the San Fransico-based company, INgroove. Sales company Rocket Science LLC was also added to the project. Montgomery and Byron Gallimore are producing Time Flies—the two last worked together on Montgomery’s 2004 album, Letters From Home. Following the launch of the new album, Stringtown Records will begin looking for other artists to sign.
