12/14/2007 Stephen L. Betts John Rich, who ruffled feathers in Nashville with recent comments he made comparing gay marriage to allowing an aunt to marry her nephew if they were really in love with each other, now admits that was a “reckless analogy.” “I don't have a problem with anybody, and 'Love Everybody' absolutely is [Big & Rich]’s philosophy,” he says. John reportedly called a few people to personally apologize for the comment. However, he stands behind his conservative views, saying he thinks the entertainment industry has a double standard when it comes to politics. “They're OK to have their liberal views, but you're not OK to have your conservative ones sometimes.”
