My pals Joey+Rory, who have been spokespersons for Overstock.com for a while now, have a new spot (that’s what us media dogs call commercials) coming out and the spot has a spot…sort of. Joey’s dog Rufus (big woof out to him) is featured in the commercial about linens. I’m dog-gone proud of you Rufus! You can see the commercial on YouTube. 

 

Martina Likes Fruity          

Martina McBride talks to OK! Magazine about her new wine. She says it’s a mix of a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Blanc. Martina describes it as fruit-forward with a little chocolate taste. It is made by Blackbird Vineyards. Martina’s husband’s very successful recording studio is Blackbird Studio. Personally I like my wines with a little lamb or beef taste to them.

 

Farm Aid To St Louis

This year’s Farm Aid concert will be held at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre in St Louis. The benefit concert features Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and Neil Young. It is October 4. Neil Young? I guess a southern man does need him around anyhow.

 

Jewel’s Dreams

Jewel believes people should hold on to their dreams. So that is a good tie-in with a campaign she’s active in sponsored by www.sleepbetter.org.  It is called “Sleep Better, Dream Bigger”. She’ll be making appearances supporting it around the country. I wonder if Jewel does that funny twitching thing and makes those strange noises when she’s sleeping like I do?

 

Kenny Chesney Sleepless in Seattle

Kenny Chesney plays Seattle’s Qwest Field August 1. But on July 31 a small group of fans will have a chance to see Kenny do his sound check more or less. Kenny says Qwest can be tricky so they want to do the warm-up right and be sure all’s well for the 8/1 show. Ought to be a salmon-slapping good time!
