Joey + Rory Celebrate CMA Nom, Offering Free Trip Promotion

In the midst of a new album release and a fall tour schedule, country duo Joey+Rory have been nominated for CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and songwriting Rory has penned a song on the ballot for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Single of the Year.’ This is the husband and wife group’s second nomination for ‘Duo of the Year.’　
 

Rory’s nominations for ‘Single of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ come from hit single “I’m A Little More Country Than That,” recorded by Easton Corbin.　
 
“We’re both very proud to be nominated for CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ again,” said Joey. “It’s a thrill just to have our name on the same list as the other great duos in the category.”　
 
The couple will have to celebrate the good news on the open water as the two are set to perform alongside the Zac Brown Band on The Carnival Inspiration from Sept. 2 thru Sept. 6.　
 
“We will certainly celebrate the nominations on the high seas,” Rory said.　
 
Once the two are stateside again they get set to tour with velvet-voiced Don Williams, an opportunity which Rory said is “probably the single greatest thrill we’ve had.”　
 
“In 9th grade I bought a Don Williams Greatest Hits songbook,” Rory said. “That spring I taught myself how to read the chord-charts and sang along to all his songs. That book is how I learned to play the guitar.”　
 
Joey and Rory kick off their tour with the Gentle Giant on Sept. 30 at Rose State College in Oklahoma City and continue through October 30th.　
 
Joey and Rory have also partnered with Southwest Airlines to give fans a chance to win a round-trip for two to see the duo perform at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas on Friday, October 8th to celebrate the release of their new album, Album Number Two, which hits shelves Sept. 14.　
 
The “This TRIP’s For You” Sweepstakes begins September 2nd and ends Sept. 20. One grand prize winner will receive two round trip tickets, a one-night stay in Houston and a VIP Meet & Greet with Joey and Rory backstage, all compliments of Southwest Airlines.
