Joe's Pub and CMA Songwriters Series Are Back Again

6/23/2008 Mac McKinnon Bob DiPiero to host Joe's Pub and CMA Songwriters Series Joe’s Pub and the Country Music Association have announced a continuation of the popular CMA Songwriters Series, which features some of Nashville’s most prominent country music writers. This edition will take place Thursday, July 17th and will feature Dave Berg, Chris Tompkins, Karyn Rochelle and Jedd Hughes. The event will be hosted by established country writer, Bob DiPiero.   • Recorded first number one hit with Reba McEntire’s “Somebody” in 2004.
  • Had a four-week number one single with Rodney Atkins’ 2006 hit “If You’re Goin’ Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows).”

Chris Tompkins

  • Wrote Carrie Underwood’s smash 2007 hit “Before He Cheats.” The song won a Grammy in 2008 for song of the year.

Karyn Rochelle

  • Has appeared on many demos, including Tia Siller’s “I Hope You Dance,” which Lee Ann Womack later remade, and Martina McBride’s “There You Are.”

Jedd Hughes

  • Currently working on his first project for Capital Records Nashville. Hughes is singer, songwriter and performer.
