Joe Nichols To Host ACM Awards

 The Academy of Country Music announced that Joe Nichols will host this year’s fifth annual ACM Honors, an event to recognize the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Joe will set the stage on Monday, Sept. 19 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Ticket sales will be announced next week and will be made available on Ticketmaster.

 
This is the first time Nichols has hosted the event. He will be honoring Special Award recipients Garth Brooks, John Dorris, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Tom T. Hall, Reba, Taylor Swift and the film Country Strong, as well as winners of the off-screen categories, MBI (musician, bandleader, instrumentalist) and Industry categories.
 
Nichols is an ACM Award winner, in fact, he has award wins from every major country awards show and four GRAMMY nominations. He got there with four #1 singles and eight Top 10 singles, selling more than 2 million albums and recently having the second most played song on country radio in 2010, according to Mediabase with “Gimmie That Girl.”
 
“Hosting the ACM Honors is definitely a high point in my career,” said Joe. “To share the stage with such an incredible array of talent is a distinction I don’t take lightly, and I am honored that the Academy of Country Music asked me to host the event.”
