Universal Records South's Joe Nichols is enjoying wonderful success after the release of his latest album, Old Things New. The album was this week’s highest new CD debut on the charts, and the album’s first single, "Believers," has already seen success in its own right. But it’s the album’s closing track that has left fans and critics wanting more.

"An Old Friend Of Mine" is a personal ode to Nichols’ own struggles with addiction and his determination to overcome obstacles. The song even lead to the creation of a Web site, anoldfriendofmine.com, geared to help addicts in the recovery process.
The album’s second single, "Gimmie That Girl" is the fastest selling single in Nichols’ career and, after only three weeks, sits in the 30s on Country Music charts.

The music video for the single can be expected as early as Thanksgiving. For the video, Nichols performed in front of a sold out crowd in San Antonio, filming his first-ever live performance music video.
