Joe Nichols Donates $125,000 To Benefit Special Needs Children

Joe Nichols proved that he’s smarter than a 5th grader when he paid a visit to the hit FOX show and walked away with $125,000 for Camp Barnabas in Southwest Missouri. The camp caters to special needs campers, one of whom is Nichols’ younger sister, Kelli, who has attended the camp for the past several years.

Nichols’ donation will go towards building a health care facility for the camp, according to Cyndy Teas, the camp’s co-founder and director of development.

“Applying the money from Joe in this way provides the maximum benefit for the dollar to all of the campers,” said Teas. “Every camper who comes to our summer program has a medical need and we serve almost 1300 campers each summer. Joe's win helps us make a new heath care facility possible sooner and we are so appreciative of his honoring us and his sister Kelli in this way.”

Nichols is currently on the road promoting his critically acclaimed Old Things New album, which has just recently reached the Top 30 on the charts.
