Many hopeful stars from near and far traveled to Nashville this past weekend in hopes of becoming the next "American Idol." Country stars like Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Danny Gokey and Bucky Covington started their career on FOX’s reality TV show, and the 10,000 plus people that auditioned in downtown Nashville for Season 10 hoped they could, too.

Turns out that even Country star's children want to be Idols as well. Joe Diffie’s 28-year-old son, Parker, and 23-year-old daughter, Kara, caught the judges’ attention this weekend, making Diffie one proud papa.

“They both are really good singers and good people,” Diffie told The Boot. “It’s pretty gratifying to see their interest in music. I’ve recorded both of them here at the house, and people rave about how good they sound.”

Although Diffie knows his children are future stars, he is apprehensive about the show. “The A.I. process seems pretty daunting, and I would have to think that it isn’t purely music-based,” he said. “I don’t know much about it really. I just don’t know how in the world you can glean talent form thousands of folks who try out, not to mention the ones who are just there to get their mugs on TV.”

Diffie was unable to see his two kids audition on Saturday. He had prior plans to perform in Jackson, Miss. But if his children make it to the next round, Diffie said he will definitely cheer them on.
