Jimmy Wayne is a little over one month and 300 miles in to his “Meet Me Halfway” walk from Nashville to Phoenix. The singer began this tour in early January to raise awareness for teens that age out of the foster home system.
Along the way, Wayne has had several visitors accompany him for a few miles. He has met families who bring him food and provide him with shelter to show their support for this cause.

"I've had families park their cars in store parking lots and walk with me," Wayne told AOL's The Boot. "It's been great."
Wayne likes the company on the long road he has ahead of him, but he does have some “rules” of the road for fans wanting to join him for a walk during the campaign.
“I had a woman walk up and say, 'I'm going to let my [14-year-old] daughter walk with you,' which I had to shut down real quick," Wayne sayid."I don't want people to take this the wrong way, but I don't want a 14-year-old girl walking by herself with me down the road. That's just not what I'm trying to do. If they want to walk as a family, that's great, but I don't want them sending their kids out to walk with me for liability reasons. I recommend if people want to walk that they bring their family. If it's a kid that wants to walk, they need to be of legal age, and they need to have somebody else with them -- not by themselves."
Wayne has almost made it to Oklahoma but will be taking a short detour to Missouri and Ohio for special performances on Feb. 8 and Feb. 10, respectively. But after those performances, Wayne will be back on the road to complete his “Meet Me Halfway” tour.
