It's been two months and eleven days, and Country Music artist Jimmy Wayne has walked 721 miles on his Meet Me Halfway campaign, which is raising awareness and funds for today's troubled youth.

Wayne is making his way towards Oklahoma City and took time this week to speak with TheBoot.com about his travels and his reunion with Lt. Col. Jason Garkey.

"Having him out again is awesome," said Wayne. "We're going to walk 20 miles per day except for one day we're going to try to walk 30 miles."

"It's nice to get back out and pick up where I left off," Lt. Col. Garkey added. The pair met up in January and began a partnership to help homeless and runaway teenagers. Garkey teaches a program that is affiliated with the Army's March 2 Success, a website dedicated to helping students improve their skills and increase SAT and ACT scores.

"It's important that these kids not only have the resources they need when they age out of the [foster-care] system, but also have the education," Wayne said. "That needs to be a priority. That should be available for them. It's a long run, but somebody's got to do it. If everybody waited on somebody else to do something, it would never get done."
