Now Country singer Jimmy Wayne might have a horror story to top problems anyone else has ever had with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents. Wayne ended up handcuffed and standing in his boxers during a recent trip through an airport in California.  Wayne told a writer from The Tennessean that the misunderstanding with security is something he can laugh about now, but was definitely not funny at the time. He had been traveling around for the country promoting his new CD and No. 1 single “Do You Believe Me Now” and admits to being out of it by the time he got to the airport. He went through the metal detector three times and set the machine off each time; he had already taken off his shoes, sweatshirt and jewelry. What came next is best told by Wayne. “Well, (the TSA officer) said he said to remove whatever was in my shorts, but common sense told me by the second time to remove whatever was in my shorts,” Wayne told The Tennessean. “So the next step was to remove my shorts. I think had I been in some tighty-whiteys it wouldn’t have happened, but it was boxers. I thought, ‘It’s not a big deal. They sent a sales paper out every week that has some guy standing there in his boxers, no one is offended by that.’ But that airport was. I thought it was going to shut down. People started yelling. It was a huge scene. Police were running through the airport, and TSA officers were running toward me and I’m like, ‘What?’” After being handcuffed and questioned for 25 minutes, Wayne was released. His first phone call was to his mom to explain the incident. His mom laughed during their entire conversation. Luckily for him, the situation ended on a positive note and he told the paper, “I’d do it again if I could hear my mom laugh like that again.”
