When addressing the packed audience at Asheville, N.C., Nettles said, "This is about the best birthday present you could ever get!" The concert opened with Ashton Shepherd playing a 40-minute set because Kellie Pickler, also an opener for Sugarland, was not available for the show. The twangy Country songstress' songs include "Takin' Off This Pain" and "Sounds So Good." When Sugarland stepped onto stage, their first number was unlike the typical headliner opening song. They wore black and white, while the other musicians huddled in a corner of the stage holding umbrellas, reminiscent of an old black-and-white French movie except for a red spotlight. Sugarland played almost every song from their recent Love on the Inside album. The duo was very active on stage, but Nettles took a strong, still stance to sing the band's new single, "Already Gone." The show ended with the duo playing cover songs that reminded them of when they would play in Georgia at the beginning of Sugarland's formation.
